Self-Propelled - class of 2011 theatre alumni Rayjay Lee-Jambet aims to improve the financial viability of communities one family at a time
Dreyfoos alumna Rayjay Lee-Jambet has channeled the leadership and organizational skills she developed as a theatre stage manager into her work with Propel, a company focused on improving financial access for low-income families by streamlining EBT tracking. Born in Jamaica and raised in Palm Beach, Lee-Jambet credits her time at Dreyfoos and as a counselor for the Arts Camp program with shaping her ability to lead and adapt to diverse challenges. Academically driven, she excelled in Dual Enrollment courses and became a Questbridge finalist, leading her to study economics at the University of Chicago as a first-generation college student. Today, her work at Propel reflects her passion for supporting underserved communities and creating tools that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

From displays at Guitar Centers to booths at music festivals, the Martin Guitars company is advertising to musicians across the country, headed by none other than a Dreyfoos alumna. Hilary Brown, a Communications Arts major, is making waves in the music industry as Director of E-Commerce, Direct-to-Consumer, and Channel Programs at Martin Guitars.
Alumnus Spotlight: Jeffrey Adkins
When orchestra director Jeffrey Adkins was asked to give a recital at his alma mater Lynn University’s concert hall after receiving the Conservatory Alumni Award, he declined. Instead, he asked if he could bring the Dreyfoos String and Symphony Orchestras to perform in his place.
Issy Block: Crafting a Brighter Future on Broadway
Issy Block, a 2017 Technical Theatre major, is making a significant impact on Broadway as an Entertainment Engineer for McLaren Engineering Group. Her work on multiple Tony-nominated and award-winning shows from the past season is a testament to her dedication to the behind-the-scenes world of theatre, which has captured her imagination since her time as a student at Dreyfoos. Dreyfoos provided Issy with a solid foundation in theater. Her daily work in the scene shop honed her carpentry skills and instincts, which are crucial in her current role. Additionally, Dreyfoos taught her effective communication skills, both within the theater world and in translating theater concepts to those outside the industry.

Autumn Wilson: Fine Artist Autumn T. Wilson is an Alumna of Dreyfoos School of the Arts. Autumn graduated from NYU with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, Art History, and Visual Culture. She is currently an MFA student at The City College of New York, where she is getting her Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art. During her time at Dreyfoos, she felt fully welcomed and embraced by the community.

This year marks our 30th Anniversary, and it is an exciting time to be part of what's happening at Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation (SOAFI). As an alumnus, you know firsthand what a special place Dreyfoos is. Even for myself, who didn't pursue a career in the arts, it's safe to say I would not be where I am today without the inspiring environment we all experienced at Dreyfoos. From the teachers and staff to each of us who stepped foot on campus, we all made Dreyfoos our home. I'm confident DSOA left its mark on you. The magic of this place is real!
Alumni Spotlight - Shani Simpson
Shani Simpson: Multidisciplinary Artist Art is an "intrinsic" part of Shani Simpson's life. As a Lake Worth Beach-based painter, photographer, and mixed media artist, Simpson incorporates her knowledge from her expansive career and her time at Dreyfoos as a visual major daily. Since graduating from Dreyfoos in 1999, she has worked at the White House Historical Association, the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, and the Armory Art Center. She now serves as the inaugural Program Director at West Palm Beach Center for Arts & Technology. Dreyfoos School of the Arts Alumna Gives Back to the school that Inspired Her!
Dreyfoos School of the Arts 2006 Theatre Alumna, Karina Brez hosted a Grand Opening and ribbon cutting of her new jewelry store on Worth Ave, in Palm Beach Florida on November 19th, 2021, where a percentage of the proceeds from purchases benefited Dreyfoos School of the Arts Science Department.
