Akerman LLP, a law firm located in downtown West Palm Beach, is committed to philanthropic efforts. Amy Price, a class of 2000 Dreyfoos alumna and Associate at Akerman, spoke with us about Akerman’s support of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation. “Akerman is very much dedicated to advancing meaningful change and creating better opportunities in our communities for the future. Akerman’s Philanthropic Initiative guides its commitment of firm resources to achieve maximum impact in our communities, particularly in the areas of education and youth development. I am extremely proud and grateful to be a part of a firm that agrees that supporting Dreyfoos School of Arts fits squarely within that Initiative.”

For 4 years now, Akerman has been a sponsor of the Foundation’s beloved pop-up event, Dreyfoos in White. This past Saturday, Amy and the rest of Akerman’s guests enjoyed a night at the 5th annual Dreyfoos in White. “There are so many things I love about the event, but what I love the most is the overwhelming enthusiasm of all of the attendees. I am always impressed with the amount of effort the attendees put forth, not only in lugging all of their supplies for dinner but also in building the extravagant tablescapes. It really demonstrates their true passion for supporting the school and the students. That the school has so many passionate supporters makes me proud to be a member of this community.”

In addition to participating as a sponsor through Akerman, Amy Price has served on the Dreyfoos in White committee almost all five years. “The experiences, connections and knowledge I gained from attending Dreyfoos has shaped nearly every aspect of my life. Dreyfoos opened doors for me which would have been non-existent had I not been fortunate enough to attend. Because of these experiences, I am passionate about giving back to this amazing institution responsible for shaping my life and facilitating my achievements.”

Akerman’s support of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation makes a difference not only in the lives of our students, but in the future of our community. “Supporting the school’s arts and education programs not only provides opportunities for the students to achieve their goals but also facilitates the further development of a community that is passionate about its youth, the arts and culture.”

As a music alumna, Amy knows firsthand the opportunities that Dreyfoos provides guide our students to successful careers both in the arts and beyond. “The passion, motivation, and persistence which were required to dedicate myself to the violin continue to follow me throughout my career. In fact, my areas of expertise – music, entertainment, copyright, and trademark law – are a natural progression of my passion for music and the arts. Being a musician and having been surrounded by so many creative individuals throughout my education and career has given me a unique perspective in my field which I believe my clients find valuable. My hope is for the continued success of the students and for our community to continue to support this amazing institution.”

Dreyfoos in White was held on Saturday, October 21st in Meyer Amphitheatre with nearly 550 guests in attendance. Thanks to the support of Akerman, LLP and our many community sponsors the School of the Arts Foundation raised over $40,000 to support Dreyfoos’ vital programs.
