Dreyfoos Dean of Dance Heather Lescaille Honored with 2026 Randolph A. Frank Prize

Dreyfoos School of the Arts is proud to celebrate Heather Lescaille, Dean of Dance and Class of 1995 alumna, who has been named the 2026 Randolph A. Frank Prize for the Performing Arts Educator by the Palm Beach Symphony.

The annual Randolph A. Frank Prize recognizes outstanding performing artists and arts educators whose work enhances the cultural and artistic life of Palm Beach County and demonstrates a commitment to excellence in the performing arts.

A Palm Beach Gardens native, Lescaille was a member of the first class of dance majors at the Palm Beach County School of the Arts, the program that would later become Bak Middle School of the Arts and Dreyfoos School of the Arts. After building a professional career as a dancer and educator, she returned to Dreyfoos in 2014 and was appointed Dean of the Dance Department in 2016.

Under her leadership, Dreyfoos dancers have performed original ballets and classical repertoire including Don Quixote, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Le Corsaire, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, and La Bayadère. Lescaille has also championed collaboration across Dreyfoos art areas, directing productions such as Synergy and the annual Winter Arts Medley, which brings together students from every art area onstage and behind the scenes.

In 2022, Lescaille received national recognition when the U.S. Department of Education named her the most influential teacher of a U.S. Presidential Scholar.

Her recognition with the Randolph A. Frank Prize is especially meaningful for the Dreyfoos community. From student to alumna to educator and department leader, Lescaille continues to inspire the next generation of artists while carrying forward the legacy of arts excellence that helped shape her own journey.
